Remodeling Show exhibit space is assigned during Space Draw based on a priority point system. This system rewards those who have supported the show in the past and continue to support the show in the future.
Here's how the system works:
Exhibiting companies receive their priority points each year based on the following calculations:
1. 10 points for exhibiting in the Remodeling Show
2. 1 point for each 100 net sq. ft of contracted exhibit space
3. 2 point for every $2,000 (net) spent on sponsorships or advertising in the Program & Event Guide
4. 5 points for 6 or more full-page ads (paid) in Official Show Publication Sponsor magazine - either REMODELING magazine or PROFESSIONAL DECK BUILDER magazine - (based on 2009 commitments contracted by March 1, 2009)
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR SPACE DRAW AND PRIORITY POINTS
1. QUALIFYING FOR SPACE DRAW
Contracts for 2009 received without the correct deposit will not be considered valid until deposit is received.
All contracts and deposits for the 2009 show must be received by Friday, March 20, 2009 to be included in the initial space assignment. All contracts received by that date will be assigned in Priority Point order at that time.
2. ACCOUNTING AND CALCULATIONS
Calculations are based on accounting records received to date. No changes will be made to prior year calculations.
3. PRIORITY POINT TIES
If two or more companies tie in Priority Points, space will be assigned according to the earliest date the contract and deposit are received.
4. PRIORITY POINTS - SPONSORSHIPS
Priority Points for sponsorships contracted prior to Space Draw will be included in the calculation for 2009 space assignments. Sponsorships contracted after Space Draw will be applied to the total points accumulated for space selection in the 2010 show.
5. PRIORITY POINTS - CANCELLATION PROCESS
Cancellation of a booth space or sponsorship contract will result in the loss of Priority Points awarded for that application.
EXAMPLE: Exhibitor sends in a contract for a 20' x 20' space (400 square feet) for the 2009 Remodeling Show Space Draw. This application gives the exhibitor four (4) points added to their point grand total from previous years. If the exhibitor then chooses not to participate in the 2009 Remodeling Show after space draw, four (4) points will then be deducted from the total accumulated points.
PROCESS PRIOR TO 2002
Please note that beginning with the 2002 Space Draw the Priority Point system was changed to incorporate sponsorship and advertising points into the Priority Point system. The priority points were not retroactively adjusted - simply modified from 2002 on.
PRIORITY POINTS & DECKEXPO
The Remodeling Show will be co-locating with DeckExpo beginning in 2009. For those exhibitors looking to exhibit in one or both areas, please consider the following information relative to your priority points:
1. Hanley Wood will NOT be merging the Priority Point process for the Remodeling Show and DeckExpo.
2. While the Remodeling Show and DeckExpo are co-located, priority points between the two-events are non transferable. For example, if you are a long-standing DeckExpo exhibitor, you can not decide to transfer all your points to the Remodeling Show in order to get a better location and vice-versa.
