Changes in Exhibiting in Chicago:
Chicago has made sweeping changes to the rules for companies exhibiting at McCormick and Navy Pier. These changes, including allowing exhibitors to perform work in their own booths with power tools, create an exhibitor friendly atmosphere and make Chicago a desired location.
Expanded Exhibitor Rights
• Exhibitors may perform work such as set up and dismantle, install graphics, setting up and plugging in electrical equipment including computers and A/V in a booth of any size
(Please note: Any exhibitor working a booth must be employed by the exhibiting company for at least six months). |
| • Exhibitors may perform work within their booths using their own ladders, hand tools, cordless tools, and power tools |
| • POV (defined as cars, pick-up trucks, mini-vans, full-sized vans, and SUVs) can be unloaded by exhibitors using dolly or cart in a 20 minute time period |
Electrical
| • Rates are competitive with national and regional competitors’ average pricing |
Labor
| • Straight Time is now defined as the first 8 consecutive hours between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm Monday through Friday |
| • Over Time begins after the first eight consecutive hours of Straight Time Monday through Friday until midnight and the first 8 consecutive hours between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm on Saturday |
| • Double Time is 12:00 am to 5:59 am Monday through Saturday, after the first 8 consecutive hours between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm on Saturday, and all day on Sunday |
| • Crew sizes not to exceed two persons until Exhibitor requests or MPEA determines for safety. This guideline includes rigging crews |

Catering
| • Exhibitors can bring in food for personal consumption |
| • Reduced catering and concession pricing, reduced minimum catering order, and no increase in pricing based on order date |
Miscellaneous
| • Free WiFi in all areas of the facility including common areas, exhibit halls, and meeting rooms |
| • Reduced parking fees at the surface lot |
